Look what Nana found for me!!!

Nana called yesterday to say she had seen a Barbie Jeep for sale that Jayden would love, so obviously, I said, "Buy it!" Ben and I take Jayden over to get the Jeep, which may I say I thought was going to be put away for Christmas! Nana had it hide behind the trash can, but curious Jayden eye spyed it and she reaction was priceless. She had this huge smile on her face, her arms tensed beside her side and saying, "oh, oh, oh!!" So, we called Poppa out so everone could watch Jayden drive her new car, which I add was not put away for Christmas!! Jayden cried as Daddy loaded into the truck! So today I thought after Daddy got up from his nap, we would let Jayden drive her Jeep down the street. Mommy wasn't thinking and forgot to charge it so we only made it to the bottom of the drive. Jayden refused to get out, so Daddy had to carry Jeep and Jayden back to the carport! Well, at least she is enjoying it, right!?!

Family Day

Ben has been working 3rd shift at work to help out while one of the mechanics is out on medical leave. Because of this, he sleeps until 4pm, gets up eats dinner and goes back to bed until 10:30pm! Jayden has not spent much time with Daddy this week so we had Family Day yesterday. First Jayden and I spent the morning shopping and eating lunch with Nana & Poppa while Daddy got some sleep. Then when Daddy got up we took Jayden to the Natural Resource Center off of Roper Mtn Rd and fed the ducks. Well, first Daddy wanted to feed the geese...the very mean geese that chased us around the car and hissed at Ben. Then we found the ducks and Jayden at a ball! After that we went to Toys'R'Us so we could look for ideas on what to tell Santa to bring to Jayden for Christmas!! Then we took Jayden to El Jaliscos for dinner. Jayden had her first soft taco....but she may not be a mexican food fan like mommy & daddy. Check out the pictures!! We really enjoyed yourselves!

Family Beach Trip 2008

Day 1- 9/13/08- We arrived at the beach house and Jayden was excited to see that toys were waiting for her on the porch. Thanks Chloe for allowing Jayden to play with your toys for the week. She really enjoyed them!
Day 2- 9/14/08- Jayden discovers the ocean and she was not quite sure what to think of everything!
Day 3- 9/15/08- Jayden really enjoyed swimming, but today it rained so we couldn't go to the pool. Jayden didn't understand and was looking for her swimsuit!

Day 4- 9/16/08- Poppa, Nana & Jayden eating ice cream!

Day 5- 9/17/08- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANA!!! We spent the day at Broadway at the Beach, where Jayden enjoyed feeding the ducks & fish, playing on the playground and watching the waiter dance at Johnny Rockets!
Day 6- 9/18/08- Daddy & Jayden walking on the beach looking for seashells. Jayden would walk by the shoreline but scream "my mommy mommy" and run away anytime the tide would get close to her feet! It was so cute!
Day 8- 9/19/08- HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY!!!! After taking Daddy to Crabby Mikes for 10 lbs, yes I said 10 lbs of crab legs, we enjoyed a walk down Garden City Pier.
Day 9- 9/20/08- On our way to feed the ducks AGAIN! Jayden loved feeding the ducks so much that we had to go feed them twice a day. Anytime we would drive near the lake, she would jump up and down, flap her arms and say "ack ack". Very cute!!!
Day 10- 9/21/08- Jayden feeding the ducks for the last time and saying goodbye. Today was special for Jayden. She had been watching a swan swim around all week but he would never get close enough to feed, but today Daddy coached the swan onto the bank. Daddy was even lucky enough to feed the swan by hand. Jayden just loved it!
So, as you can tell we really enjoyed our trip to the beach. We can't wait for next year!!

Here are a few pictures of the hair bows I made for Jayden. I may even decide to sale them for some extra income. Let me know if you interested!

Here is the picture I promised. This is from the little bit of rain we received from Hurricane Hanna. Pretty, huh?

Just another Saturday

We didn't do much today....a lazy Saturday! Ben worked...as usual...but thankfully only 8 hours instead of the scheduled 12+. Its amazing how difficult his job is, with working 7 days a week, working long hours, being on call 24hr/day and working with no A/C in a mill that is 100 degrees in the winter, yet Ben loves it. I guess its a testimony to growing up and become an adult, spouse and father. Thanks Ben!
Mom, Jayden and myself decided to do a little running around. I have been trying to put hair bows in Jayden's hairs for months and up until now she shakes her head no and jerks the bow out. Luckily she is kind enough to give it back to me instead of throwing it down, like most little ones would do. So, now that we have achieve Jayden allowing the bows in her hair, I decided that instead of paying $4/each, I could make them. So, off to Sallys Beauty Supply to buy slides (like alligator clips) then to Michaels for ribbon and decorations. Spent about $8 came home and started working! And yep, I can make them!!!! Yeah!!! So for $8 I made 12 bows..not bad, huh?
We continue to count down to the beach trip...7 days away. We were fearful that Hurricane Hanna would cause damage to the house and then the worry that the Monster Hurricane Ike would destroy everything in it's path. Luckily, Hanna was downgraded to a tropical storm with high wind and lots of rain..no damage. Luck must be on our side because Ike took a turn to hit Cuba and then into the Gulf. However good for us and our vacation, it is sad for my mom's boss whose house in the Keys is in Ike's direct path to the Gulf. So fingers crossed that its weathers the storm! Looks like another scary Hurricane season! I have a great pic of a rainbow from the little rain we received from Hurricane Hanna. I will make sure to post it tomorrow!
I can not close this blog until I make note to the fact that the Gamecocks lost to Vandy (2 years in a row!!) and Clemson beat Citadel. Yes, I know Clemson played a smaller team but hey a win is a win and something to be proud of! So that makes USC and Clemson with 1-1 record. College football season is always so eventfully in our home! Good night!

"Friends are born, not made." - Henry Adams

I received this picture in an email this morning after talking with one of my oldest and dearest friends. I thought it needed to be shared so I hope you enjoy it.

I am lucky to say that I have some of the most amazing friends. Ya know the kind of friend that you only see once a year or talk to just every so often, but still have such a strong loving bond. This particular friend, I have known since I was maybe 8 or 9 years old. I can remember all the foolishness we found yourselves in together. She is the most amazing person I know! And I am so excited to annouce that she is pregnant with her second baby, which between you and me....I think is a girl! Both our lives are so hectic with little ones, but no matter what how long its been, our friendship and love for each other stays strong.

"Best friends are like diamonds, precious and rareFalse friends are like leaves, found everywhere."- Anoymous

"A person is only complete when she has a true friend to understand her, to share all her passions and sorrows with, and to stand by her throughout her life."

Labor Day Weekend...not much labor...lots of relaxing!

So....along with Labor Day comes the end to the summer season as we closely drift into the nice fall weather. Thank goodness for cooler days and nights!

Labor Day Weekend was very relaxing for the Bryant Family. To start with, Ben was thrilled to watch the Gamecocks play to a victory of 34-0 to NC State. Although a game, I think no USC supporter can really brag about, with 4 interceptions and numerous penalties, at least its a check in the win column. As a born Tiger fan, I hope it is one of few wins for the Gamecocks! Saturday, we enjoyed a day at Lake Lure in North Carolina with Ben's mom, stepdad and niece, Ashton. It was a nice drive and an enjoyable ride on the boat, not too hot at all! This was not only Jayden's first trip to the lake, but her first boat ride as well. She loved riding the boat, watching the waves splash and the tubers and skiers enjoying their ride behind the boat. On the other hand, she was not so thrilled about actually swimming in the lake, I guess that she gets from her mommy. After a long day at the lake with no nap, yes I said NO NAP, Jayden crashed on the way home and slept through the night. This was nice since the season opener Clemson vs Bama was on. It was a depressing night, so depressing that Ben even chose to lay low with the rival talk! Awww Tommy, what happened??? No hearts in the game, caused a season opener loss for my Tigers! But head up, still 11 games to go and the ACC Championship is still in our grasp, only by fingertips though! Sunday was slow, with just a quick shopping trip to the Shops at Greenridge, one of my favs, for Bunco gifts. Monday, even slower, with mommy not even changing out of her lounge clothes! Daddy finally got the grass cut and even got over to my moms to help with her weedeating, before being called back in to work! Aww....Labor Day Weekend, mine was so enjoyable!

So, now our focus is the count down for the beach, 11 days and counting! I am so excited to be able to play with Jayden in the sand and surf! Lets keep our fingers crossed that Hurricane Hanna doesn't ruin our plans.

Well, thats all for now folks! See ya tomorrow! Happy Tuesday!

I'm new to this...

So, this whole blogging thing is new to me so forgive me for my ignorance. With my family in England, I thought this would be a great way to stay in touch with sharing photos and daily events of our little Jadabug! So to all of you daily bloggers, advice is greatly appreciated!
